DRUG DESIGN

Preclinical Drug Design or Rational Drug Design is the process of discovering medications. The process of drug design is carried out only upon obtaining a thorough understanding of the biological target. The drug thus developed is a molecule aimed at having therapeutic effects on the patient it is injected on. This drug performs either by activating or inhibiting any biomolecule like protein.

Drug Design fundamentally designs the molecular shape of the drug so that it is compatible with the biomolecular target which in turn makes it easy to interact with and have a therapeutic impact. Drug Design also involves the use of computer technology called computer-aided drug design but does not completely rely on the same.
