Biotechnology is an extensive part of biology involving the development of technically advanced tools and techniques for use in biological systems in order to uplift overall quality standards of living. Biotechnology involves the use of lot of different technologies, equipment, and tools based on which it can further be classified as genetic engineering, bionics, bio engineering, nanotechnology, and so on.

Innovating new cures for diseases, reduce operational costs by streamlining chemical manufacturing processes, infusing nutrition to food products to cater to different diet plans, breeding of plants and crops to withstand changing climatic conditions, etc. are some of the examples of biotechnology.
